At KID CITY Parties, we create magical experiences for children every day, but some celebrations stay with us forever.
Earlier this year, we had the privilege of supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation UK in granting a very special wish for Ellis, whose dream was to meet Willy Wonka and hear his favourite song, Pure Imagination.
Working alongside the Make-A-Wish team, we helped bring the experience to life through immersive performance, interactive games, themed room decoration, and event logistics. Every detail was designed to create a warm, joyful, and memorable environment where Ellis could truly step into the world of Willy Wonka.
From the moment Willy Wonka arrived, the focus was on making Ellis feel special, included, and at the centre of the adventure. Together, they explored games, shared magical moments, and created memories that will stay with everyone involved for years to come.
A few weeks after the event, we were delighted to receive feedback from the Make-A-Wish Foundation:
"Your support in creating an amazing and unique experience for Ellis was greatly appreciated.
Your communication before the wish and the planning process was so smooth and it was a pleasure to work with you. You could tell that you really cared about making the experience one for Ellis to remember."
We were especially touched to hear the family's feedback:
"The Willy Wonka experience was brilliant. It was nice to hear a family accent, which was a fun surprise for Ellis. We really appreciated how Willy Wonka addressed Ellis and wasn't afraid to touch him. This was important for Ellis to feel included. He loved the parachute game as well."
As event professionals, we often talk about creating unforgettable experiences. This was a powerful reminder that the most meaningful moments are not always the biggest or most elaborate—they are the ones that make a child feel seen, included, and celebrated.
